Arrival & Intake Process
We know this may be a stressful time, and we're here to make things as smooth and supportive as possible.
  • A Family Advocate will meet with you to begin intake - either by appointment or walk-in.
  • Your child will be offered age-appropriate activities while we complete the intake process privately with you.
  • You'll be guided through a respectful, confidential intake process.
  • You remain the legal guardian and decision-maker throughout.
We're here to offer empathy, solutions, and support - not judgment.

You Stay in Control
Bringing your child to Isabel's House does not mean giving up custody.  You remain your child's legal guardian throughout their stay.  Our goal is to keep families together and support you through difficult times - not to separate you from your child.
Here's what that means:
  • You make all decisions about your child's care and schedule
  • Only you or an approved contact can pick up your child
  • You'll work directly with a Family Advocate to create a plan that supports your family's needs.
  • Our services are voluntary, confidential, and designed to help you resolve a crisis safely.
While we may work with local agencies, Isabel's House is not part of a foster care system and never takes custody of children.   As mandated reporters, we're required to report signs of abuse or neglect - but our primary focus is always on supporting you and ensuring your child's safety. You stay in control, and we're here to help.

Staying Connected
You are welcomed to visit and call your children during their stay.  Only individuals you authorize will be allowed to pick them up.  We believe in keeping families together, and your bond with your child is always honored.

Free and Confidential Support
There is no cost to bring your child at Isabel's House.  Our Services are 100% supported by donations, grants, and community funding so you can focus on what matters most - your family.
