Our Mission Statement
To provide immediate refuge for children ages birth to 12 whose families are in crisis. By partnering with families and the community, we will strengthen families and prevent child abuse and neglect.
The statistics are overwhelming:
- Greene County continues to record one of the highest rates of child abuse and neglect in the state of Missouri – nearly 7 children substantiated per 1,000
- Child abuse and neglect has been identified as a “Red Flag” by the CFO’s Community Focus Reports since 2005
- The physical, psychological, emotional, and societal impact of child abuse and neglect are lifelong
- Statistically speaking, a child in Missouri is abused or neglected every 2 hours
Child abuse and neglect is preventable, which is why Isabel’s House provides 24/7/365 care for the community’s most vulnerable children when the family is in crisis. Families who bring their children to Isabel’s House partner with our team of Family Advocates to create a plan specific to each situation, and our team works to connect parents and caregivers with the right resources to address their crises and build up the family.
